FFTC is made up of our volunteer staff, sponsors and participants. Each of YOU can help make a difference in the life a child with cancer. Please help by registering for our annual tournament, hosting your own tournament or fundraiser or by making a donation. Our long term goal is to cure childhood cancer one lake at a time and we would like to have a tournament in all 50 states each summer. Please contact us if you or someone you know would be interested in coordinating a tournament in your state.
Our founder and hero, Matthew Ross Siegle, founded FFTC in 2008. His goal and mission was to find a cure for childhood cancer, which he had been fighting for 5 years at the time (osteosarcoma). Our 2010 tournament couldn't have been more of a success. Matt caught the winning walleye measuring 31 ½ inches. It was the catch of his life, and just two short months later Matt, surrounded by his loved ones, earned his wings and went to be with his Father in Heaven. His legacy and zest for life will remain at the core of all that we do and will help us continue to help fulfill Matt's dream - to find a cure! ~He fought the good fight, he finished the race, and kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7~ To read more about Matt, view his story here or visit his caringbridge site.
It is our dream at “Fishin’ for the Cure” to one day live in a world where no child has to suffer from the painstaking battle of cancer...that one day, there will be hope and there will be a cure!
